Another E3 has come and gone, and here's the games that piqued my interest the most at this year's E3. The games listed here aren't in any particular order and this is, by no means, a definitive list, but every title on this list is something that will at some point make it's way into my collection.

White Knight Chronicles PS3
I'm a sucker for JPRGs and the trailer for this one looks pretty good.

Splinter Cell: Conviction X360, PC
I've not really played the Splinter Cell series past a cursory glance (always planned to though). After watching this, I got really interested in it. I love a good rogue agent. What's good about a trailer like this is that it makes me want to fire up the originals and see what it's all about.

Metal Gear Solid: Rising PS3, X360
Another Metal Gear game is great in my book. Don't know why MS is getting all worked up about MGS 'finally' coming to the Xbox though. MGS is hardly a 100% PS exclusive series as one can see from this and this.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker PSP
While both the PS3 and the 360 are getting a MGS game, I'm actually a bit more excited about this game than Metal Gear Solid Rising. Be forwarned, if you aren't a Metal Gear fan, than most of what makes the trailer exciting will mean nothing to you.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 Wii
I like the first one, and while this looks like more of the same, properly executed, that could be a good thing.

Heavy Rain: The Origami Killer PS3
Heavy Rain has been talked about since the PS3 was first released. Developed by the same group that brought us Indigo Prophecy (Fahrenheit in the UK), it looks more like an interactive movie than a traditional game. What will be interesting to see is how the narrative will continue should 'your' character die. Essentially, this means that the narrative is not dependent up on the player. Which completely turns game design on it's ear. Heck, maybe even Roger Ebert (who has stated that games aren't art due to a malleable narrative) would like this one. Course I guess if I let the character die, I just screwed up the narrative so maybe not.

Final Fantasy XIII PS3, X360
With over 85 million games sold through the history of the Final Fantasy franchise, a new entry in the series is bound to generate some interest. Microsoft, smartly wooed Square-Enix and got a US X360 release for this title (though I really don't think that it will do all that well on that platform). Right now Square is claiming a 2010 release but I'll believe that when I see it.

Modern Warfare 2 X360, PS3, PC
Obviously wanting to make a break from the now Treyarch developed Call of Duty WWII series, Infinity Ward has dropped the COD name in favor of the Modern Warfare subtitle from COD4. Assuming that they improve on everything that made the first one good, this should be a solid title.

Muramasa: The Demon Blade Wii
Vanilla Ware was responsible for a couple of late PS2 entries, GrimGrimiore and Odin Sphere. Both were very well received in the JRPG community. If you think that 2D is dead you need to watch the trailer for this game. The art style is fantastic.

Assassin's Creed 2 PS3, X360
The first game (my favorite game of 2007) got some mixed reviews and so far, everything I've read about the game looks to address the majority of the issues that reviewer and gamers had with AC1. Everything has been stepped up from the original, graphics, gameplay, moves, you name it. If you have the PS3 version, you'll also get connectivity with the Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines PSP game that will allow you to unlock more weapons.

Red Dead Redemption PS3, X360
Want a good Western? One that makes you feel like you're there? Well this could be it. This game just looks like it's nailed the whole Western genre down and got it right. Last time I played a Western that really got it right was LucasArt's Outlaws. The trailer is so good, if it were for a movie, I'd want to go see it.
